Grassing procedures play a crucial role in the successful establishment of green spaces, with two primary methods being sprigging and sodding. Sprigging involves planting small pieces of grass material, or “sprigs,” which will establish into a dense turf over time. This method is often favored for its cost-effectiveness and ability to cover large areas quickly.
On the other hand, sodding involves laying pre-grown rolls of turf, which provides instant full coverage, quicker playability, and minimizes erosion risks. Both techniques require careful consideration of factors such as soil health, irrigation, and ongoing maintenance to ensure the grass thrives, whether it’s for recreational fields, residential lawns, or golf courses.
Dedicated equipment is essential for achieving optimal soil preparation conditions tailored to each planting method. These machines not only prepare the soil but also ensure that each area is meticulously cleaned, leveled, and free from contamination before planting begins. Various machines are utilized to meet the specific requirements of different soil profiles and site conditions.
Specially designed disc and solid rollers are utilized to achieve the proper depth of contact, which is essential for optimal growth and establishment.
These rollers can be used manually or towed behind machines. They are adaptable to a variety of turf grasses and soil profiles.
A variety of spreaders and sprayers are utilized at different stages of the growing process. One key factor for these pieces of equipment is the ability to calibrate them effectively, ensuring a consistent and precise application of liquid or granular fertilizers to designated areas.
With a diverse selection of rotary and cylinder mowers available, we can ensure consistent mowing quality and maintain the desired cutting height at various stages of growth. These mowers are utilized from the initial growing phase all the way to the turf facility operating.
At our ITGAP-certified turf nurseries located in various countries, we are equipped to distribute turf both locally and internationally, utilizing sea or air freight. Before exporting turf, we ensure that both sod and sprigs are thoroughly washed to remove any excess soil or sand as necessary.
We adhere to strict protocols regarding our machinery, which is why we use dedicated equipment for each grass variety. This practice helps prevent cross-contamination.
