The next generation of sustainable turf grass in Asia
After more than six years of testing in Texas and an additional three years of rigorous monitoring in Vietnam and Thailand, Lynkz Zoysia (formerly known as BRG-2) is now making its debut in the Asian market. This premium Zoysia grass variety is set to revolutionize turf management across the region.
Lynkz Zoysia shares similar characteristics to the popular Lazer Zoysia, including texture, color, and growth rate. However, after three years of side-by-side trials in Asia, Lynkz Zoysia has shown superior performance. It offers better recovery rates, reduced thatch, and improved drought and disease tolerance. Both grasses are incredibly easy to maintain, requiring less mowing, fewer cultural practices, and minimal nutrient and moisture inputs. Compared to Primo Zoysia, widely used in Southeast Asia and Japan, Lynkz Zoysia has outperformed in terms of sustainability and resilience.
Taking sustainability and performance to the next level
“These varieties are taking sustainability in turf management to a whole new level,” says Brad Burgess, CEO & Founder of Sports Turf Solutions. “In all my years of managing all varieties of turf in Asia, I’ve not seen a turf endure extensive wet and low light periods like Lynkz Zoysia and show zero signs of Disease. Some clubs are applying harmful fungicides several times a week year round to keep their turf alive. Lynkz Zoysia is as close to bullet proof as you can get”.
Recent trials conducted at two of our Sustainable Turf Farm locations demonstrated Lynkz Zoysia’s remarkable durability. Water was withheld for up to ten days, and the turf showed little to no signs of stress. Even without nutrients or cultural practices for over six months, the surface remained true to form, with green speeds exceeding 13 feet—no stress, just stellar performance.
Projects and Future Developments
Lynkz Zoysia is already being established on prestigious projects such as the Hann Reserve in Clark, Philippines. Additionally, Mount Malarayat Country Club in the Philippines will be transitioning from Bermuda greens to Lynkz Zoysia, and the second course at Chhun On Golf Resort in Cambodia is set to open with Lynkz Zoysia in Quarter 2 2025.
With its unmatched durability, low maintenance needs, and sustainability credentials, Lynkz Zoysia is the future of golf course turf in Asia. For more information or to experience the benefits of Lynkz Zoysia, contact us at contact@sportsturfsolutions.com.
