Blue Canyon Country Club engaged Sports Turf Solutions in 2023 to restore all the tees, fairways, and greens of the 32-year-old Canyon Course. The Canyon Course has a rich history dating back to the 90s, hosting major events such as the famous Johnny Walker Classic and welcoming players like Tiger Woods, Greg Norman, Nick Faldo, and Ernie Els.
The approach was to restore the course to the original design by Yoshikazu Kato, while adding a few more pin locations to the greens to accommodate the modern turf varieties and the higher green speeds that today's players strive for. The greens have been converted to Tif Eagle Bermuda Grass, the fairways are Zeon Zoysia, and the tees and surrounds are Stadium Zoysia, which is rapidly becoming the most popular Zoysia variety around the world.
